History Makers Church (hmc) is passionate about building people, creating community; seeing people mobilized to mission and justice. To help facilitate our growth and vision, hmc is on the move to our new site in Kairn Rd. Through the sale of our Marnie Rd and Valentine St properties, we were able to purchase 8 acres of prime land in Bendigo’s largest growth area.
Our vision has been to combine all parts of our organisation on one site. Currently hmc administration, Victory Christian College and History Makers (Bible) College are on this site. The next stage is to build a new auditorium for hmc. The auditorium we are planning to construct will be called the Justice Theatre & Conference Complex (JTC). We have taken the decision to not only build a facility suitable for our church congregation but to expand the possibilities and build a theatre complex that will meet the needs of our church and fill the void within the city. Our Business Committee in conjunction with our Church Board have developed a separate business plan to help facilitate this vision.
Financial Position
From the sale of the Marnie Rd property and good stewardship of the Church we have been able to achieve the following:
$1.735 million purchase land at Kairn Rd. $5.6 million construct church and school administration block, school facilities, site infrastructure including roads, car park, lighting etc.
$200,000 paid out the balance renovation loan on Valentine St. $500,000 approximate balance in the ACA (Apostolic Church Australia) Investment fund. This means we fully own everything on the Kairn Rd site and Valentine St buildings - debt free.
JTC Complex
The total cost of this facility is $3.4million. $500,000 we have in the bank will be used to start construction e.g. auditorium concrete slab, plumbing, electrical infrastructure etc. The sale of the Valentine St site will take place in early 2011, give us $1 million towards construction. $1.4 million is being sort as a loan from ACA to be serviced by the Church budget (tithes & offerings) and the JTC business plan (Venue hire). This leaves a short fall of $500,000 to be raised locally.
Your Involvement
We are asking people to consider how much they can give over the next 3 years, starting from October this year. Our goal is to raise $500,000 over 3yrs.
How To Give
On Sunday October 10th we will take up our Rise and Build offering. Giving can be done on the day via cash, cheque, card, as well as by placing a pledge form. Our pledge form is not a faith offering that you hope to give, but an actual commitment of what you are able to give over the next 3 years. Our goal is to reach $500,000 in less than 3yrs, but we have staged the offering as not to burden people.
Tax Deductibility
Because the JTC Complex will be used partially by our school (VCC) it has been registered with the tax office and all donations over $2 are tax deductible.
